After CBSE cancelled Class 12 board exams 2021 in the wake of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Union Ministry of Education is soon expected to review the situation to decide on conducting NEET exams, which is due to be held in August, and the two remaining editions of JEE-Mains. 

“A review meeting is likely to be conducted soon to decide on the schedule of the pending editions of JEE-Mains and whether NEET-UG can be conducted on August 1,” news agency PTI reported, quoting a source.

Amid the pandemic, the engineering entrance exam JEE-Mains is being conducted four times a year, so that students have chances to improve their scores. The first phase of JEE-Mains was conducted in February, followed by the second in March. The remaining next phases, scheduled for April and May, were deferred after the second wave of COVID-19 hit India. 

The JEE-Advanced exams, slated to be held on July 3, were also postponed last week. JEE-Advanced is conducted for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology and the National Institutes of Technology.

Meanwhile, the registration for NEET-UG exams, which is scheduled to be held on August 1, was due to start on May 1 but has been suspended temporarily.
