America will celebrate its 247th birthday as an independent nation on the Fourth of July, 2022. Independence was achieved from Great Britain following the Revolutionary War. The Fourth of July and fireworks go hand in hand. Nothing is more symbolic of the Fourth of July than fireworks. The tradition of fireworks began in Philadelphia in 1777 and nearly every family, city and town have their fireworks.

The country offers some biggest and brightest fireworks every year. Some of the best places to see America celebrate its independence are:
1. New York City, NY
The Macy’s Fourth of July fireworks have been a part of the tradition of the city for over four decades now. The annual show has been there since America’s bicentennial year, 1976 and this would be the 46th year of the annual show. The American birthday will be launched near the East River in Midtown Manhattan at 9:25 pm.
The annual show will be televised and streamed live on NCB or Peacock from 8-10p.m EST on July 4th.
2. Washington, DC
The capital’s fireworks can be viewed from across the Potomac River, The Supreme Court Plaza, Mount Vernon Trail or The National mall. What better place to celebrate than in the capital? The show will begin at 9:09 p.m on July 4 and the fireworks will be launched from either side of the Lincoln Memorial.

3. Boston
After 2019, The Boston Pops will return to its authentic Firework Spectacular which will happen on the Charles River Esplanade on July 4 from 8-11 p.m. The festivities will be broadcasted live on Radio, WHDH-TV Channel 7. “This celebration is one of the most iconic ways that the Commonwealth honours the Fourth of July…returning to its traditional format this year”, said Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker.
4. Nashville
The Music City’s Let Freedom Sing! Celebrations will be back this 2022 with Old Dominion as the headliner. The event will be live-streamed at 9:29 p.m CST. The event will also have performances from Gramps Morgan, Levi Hummon and Nashville Symphony during the firework display.
5. St Louis
St. Louis has thrown ‘America’s Biggest Birthday Party’ since 1981. This year the festivities would include live music, a parade, local food and a service member recognition ceremony. The year will witness 30 minutes of colourful explosions in the sky on the banks of the Mississippi River.
6. Pasadena, California
Californian fireworks are all set to display patriotic music. This year would be the 96th year of the festivities and celebrations and the guests will be guided to a motocross show and musical performances. American Fest is another long-running tradition.
7. Denver
The traditional Independence Eve Celebration is returning to Denver’s civic Central Park in 2022. The celebrations will start at 5:00 p.m with local music, food trucks and a performance by Colorado Symphony.
The fireworks will set off around 9:30 p.m from the roof of the City and Country building.
8. Philadelphia
The city’s Wawa Welcome America celebration will culminate on July 4 that began on June 19. The ‘All-day street party’ will have music by Jason Derulo and Ava Max with fireworks at the iconic Benjamin Franklin Parkway at 9:45 p.m.
The celebrations will be broadcasted live on NBC10.
9. San Diego
The Big Bay Boom over the Port of San Diego is California’s largest fireworks show. The fireworks can be viewed from Harbor Island, Shelter Island and the Embarcadero and Coronado Ferry Landing. The pyrotechnics are set off from four barges on the water at 9:00 p.m.

10. Los Angeles
The Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl will be joined by Steve Martin and Martin Short for the three-night music, and firework festival. The festivities will start on July 2nd at 7:30 p.m and culminate on July 4.
11. Santa Claus, Indiana
The Holiday World theme park has dedicated an entire piece of land for the July 4 celebrations. The celebration of Independence Day can be enjoyed on rides like Eagles Fight and the Firecracker. The new Holidays in the Sky drone and fireworks show 2022 pay homage to all the American Holidays.
