The Delhi Police confirmed that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi was the mastermind behind the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala. Lawrence Bishnoi was the primary suspect in the assassination of Sidhu Moose Wala. But he had not admitted to the crime, instead claiming that his gang was responsible and that they had planned and carried out the crime.
Lawrence Bishnoi, who is being held in Delhi’s Tihar jail, has been questioned multiple times by police. He is reported to be linked to Goldy Brar, a Canadian-based mobster who claimed responsibility for Moose Wala’s murder in a Facebook post. He alleged that the reason was vengeance for the assassination of Akali leader Vicky Middukhera last year.
Lawrence Bishnoi has denied having any involvement in the threat letter delivered to actor Salman Khan and his father, screenwriter Salim Khan.
Moose Wala, a 28-year-old singer-politician, was shot dead by unidentified assailants on May 29 in Punjab’s Mansa district, a day after the Punjab government reduced his security cover.
He had been hit by 19 bullets. According to police, he died within 15 minutes of being shot, and a manhunt for roughly ten sharpshooters was underway.
According to senior police officer HS Dhaliwal, at least five people were involved in the murder on Wednesday.
He said that one of them, Siddhesh Hiraman Kamle alias Mahakaal, a close colleague of one of the gunmen, has been detained. “Mahakaal was not involved in the shooting. The actual shooters will be arrested soon,” Dhaliwal stated.
According to the police, Mahakaal was apprehended in Pune, and five more suspects have been discovered in the case.
