On June 17, the Bombay High Court rejected an application registered by World Crest Advisors LLP, the promoter group entity of Dish TV, which appealed to restrain YES Bank from practicing its right over shares.
The issue stems due to ownership disputes between Dish TV and YES Bank. The latter has more than 440 million shares in the direct-to-home company and has been wanting changes in the management for a while now.
A single-judge bench led by Justice AK Menon rejected World Crest Advisors’ plea for urgent relief against YES Bank. The decision helps the latter to exercise its voting rights at a general meeting (EGM) of the company.
“World Crest has not made any case. The single judge is right in rejecting the ad-interim relief restraining Yes Bank and Catalyst Trusteeship from voting in the EGM on 24 June; the appeal is dismissed,” the bench of Justices Gautam S. Patel and M.J. Jamdar said, according to Livemint.
