Hollywood actor Amber Heard’s agent has claimed “lack of chemistry” as the reason behind the 38-year-old’s reduced role in ‘Aquaman 2‘ alongside Jason Momoa.

In a video testimony on Friday, Jessica Kovacevic, Heard’s agent, said that the ongoing defamation trial with Johnny Depp has significantly impacted Heard’s role in ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’.

According to Fox News, Kovacevic testified that Heard was contracted to earn $2 million in  ‘Aquaman 2’. The movie has already completed its filming process and is slated for release in March 2023.

She then claimed that Warner Bros shrunk Heard’s screentime due to the “lack of chemistry between her and Jason,” adding that Heard was taken aback when she found out the news while she was going through the script.

When asked about Heard’s fall from grace in Hollywood, the agent said,  “In my experience … Your career takes a turn after something like that,” according to Fox News.

Kovacevic further stated that the actor’s lawsuit against former partner Johnny Depp and bad press impacted her career and made her lose a role in an upcoming project by Amazon. She added that to her knowledge, no “performance issues” were ever raised against the actor in the first ‘Aquaman’ film.

Amber Heard first starred in the 2017 film ‘Justice League’ and joined the  ‘Aquaman’ franchise the next year as Mera, a red-headed femme fatale.

Kovacevic’s testimony comes days after Heard said in court that she “had to fight really hard to keep” her career amid the court battle.

“I lost opportunities. I got dropped from jobs and campaigns. I fought to keep my job and the biggest movie opportunity I had to date [with] ‘Justice League’ with the option to [star in] Aquaman,” she said.

Johnny Depp is suing Heard over an op-ed she wrote in 2018 for The Washington Post, in which she referred to herself as a victim of domestic abuse. While she did not drop any names, Depp claims that she implied that he was the abuser, and alleges that the piece brought his Hollywood career to a “catastrophic” end.
