According to the guidelines by the Election Commission of India, the counting of votes will begin from 8 am onwards on March 10 and we will get the early trends for you within a few minutes of counting. 

The Election Commission will start releasing result trends from 8 am onwards on its website – https://eci.gov.in/ and app.

The polls in these five states are expected to serve as a bellwether for the larger trends in national politics.

Exit polls are a post-voting exercise conducted by independent agencies to predetermine the winner of an election. It is a poll of voters done immediately after they exit the polling station.

It is, however, important to note, that exit polls often get it wrong. In the 2017 Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh nearly all exit polls got the numbers wrong.
