Novak Djokovic continued his dominance on ATP rankings. The Serbian is now at the top for 370 weeks. His arch rival, Spain’s Rafael Nadal, in the meanwhile, dropped to World No 5.

Djokovic won the Italian Open this week – his sixth in Rome. He defeated Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-0, 7-6 (5). The title ended his dry run this year. The World No 1 was deported from the Australian Open due to his COVID-19 vaccination status. He then lost in Dubai, Monte-Carlo, Serbia and Madrid before entering the Italian Open.

Tsitsipas, the runner-up in Rome, is fourth on the rankings. Rafael Nadal, who was knocked out of the Italian Open in the last 16, has leapfrogged the Greek player.

Casper Rudd of Norway climbed two placed and is now eighth. Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Zverev are third and fourth respectively.
