Ketakee Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party has won the Bansdih assembly constituency by defeating Ram Govind of the Samajwadi Party (SP) by a margin of 19,503 votes.

Bansdih assembly constituency has Ram Govind Chaudhary of the Samajwadi Party (SP) taking on Ketki Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Puneet Pathak of the Indian National Congress (INC), Manti Rajbhar of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), and Sushant of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) this year in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.

Ram Govind Chaudhary of the SP had won the Bansdih seat in 2017. Chaudhary had beaten his closest rival Ketki Singh by over 1,687 votes.  

In 2012, the seat was won by Ram Govind Chaudhary of the SP. 

Bansdih falls under the Ballia district and the Salempur Lok Sabha constituency, which is made up of five assembly seats.

Ravindra Kushwaha of the BJP represented Salempur as a member of Parliament in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Kushwaha defeated R. S. Kushwaha from the BSP with a margin of 1,12,477 votes. 

The Bansdih assembly constituency will vote in the sixth phase of the Uttar Pradesh elections on March 3, 2022, along with 56 other constituencies in 10 districts. Uttar Pradesh will vote in seven rounds, with the last round on March 7.

Results will be declared on March 10, along with those for elections in four other states, including neighbouring Uttarakhand.
