Legendary India
cricketer Sachin Tendulkar on Sunday turned 49 and fans and cricketers took to
social media to wish him. However, there was one Twitter post that left
Tendulkar’s fans angry. It was a Twitter post for Sachin by England’s Barmy
Army, the fan group of England cricket team.

Barmy Army
posted an image of Sachin Tendulkar from one of his Test series against England and captioned it “Happy Birthday Little Master”.

During his
illustrious career, Tendulkar scored 3990 runs in 69 matches against England
across two formats, which included nine centuries and 23 fifties. The run tally is
the highest by an Asian batter.

In his
international career, Tendulkar amassed a colossal 34357 runs across three
formats. He is the only cricketer to hit 100 hundreds and 164 half-centuries.
In 463 ODIs, he scored 18426 463 ODI with 49 centuries and 15921 runs came in
200 Test appearances with 51 tons. He is the leading run-getter not just in
these two formats, but also in international cricket. He also made one T20I
appearance for his country and scored 10 runs.

Tendulkar is
presently working with Mumbai Indians as their mentor so he will celebrate the
special day in the bio bubble with the Mumbai Indians squad members. Mumbai
will be playing their eighth game in IPL 2022 on Sunday against Lucknow Super
Giants at the Wankhede Stadium where Sachin had lifted the 2011 ODI World Cup
trophy and played his final international game.

In a country like India where numbers have a big say in every walk of life, stylish cricketer Tendulkar became the advertising world’s favourite model to present their products to the cricket crazy customers. Even eight years after his retirement, he enjoys big clout that is still revered. With due respect to Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni who are now regular faces in competitive cricket, brand Tendulkar still sells better than his successors. In 2022, Tendulkar’s brand value reportedly stands at Rs 1000 crore compared to Kohli’s Rs 800 crore and Dhoni’s Rs 900 crore.
