Formula One will be expanding its American footprint next year as it will make a pitstop in Nevada’s Las Vegas, setting its third official destination in the United States so far. The event is expected to be a night race on a Saturday in November 2023.

Fans would be able to witness the ‘Sin City’ race on the Las Vegas Strip as cars zoom across the circuit along the city’s skyline. The temporary street course will feature Las Vegas landmarks like Ceasers Palace, MSG Sphere and The Bellagio.

The race is a first for F1 in that the series will promote the event alongside Liberty Media Corp., the American parent company of F1, according to reports from the Associated Press.

Miami is all set to see its first-ever Formula One race in May 2022, while Texas’ Austin held its first one nearly a decade ago. Barring any shakeups, existing races in Mexico City and Montreal will bring F1 to North America five times next season.

While no date has been set, the Saturday night after Thanksgiving was presented as a promising choice. The race will consist of 50 laps, each being about 3.8 miles long.

Three main straights, a single chicane section and more than a dozen corners that included a high-speed cornering sequence will be on the circuit for the November race, according to the announcements on Wednesday.
