Cassidy Hutchinson, former Donald Trump-aide, on Tuesday testified at the sixth January 6 hearing. She said that the Republican President and his chief of staff Mark Meadows were aware that protestors were capable of resorting to violence on January 6, 2021.

Hutchinson also testified that then White House official Anthony Ornato stated that he had a conversation with Trump regarding the weapons at the rally.

Days after her testimony, Cassidy Hutchinson, as per three CNN sources, said that she was contacted by someone attempting to influence her testimony.

Liz Cheney of Wyoming, who is the vice chairwoman of the House Select committee, at the hearing said that two witnesses admitted that Trump allies had tried to intimidate them. The GOP representative did not name the witnesses but sources  tell CNN Hutchinson is one of them.

The surprise hearing delivered alarming new testimony about Donald Trump’s angry, defiant and vulgar actions as he ignored repeated warnings against summoning the mob to the Capitol and then refused to intervene to stop the deadly violence as rioters laid siege.

The former President, in an exclusive interview with Newsmax’s Rob Finnerty on Thursday,  called Hutchinson’s allegations “absolutely crazy.”

“This lady [Hutchinson], yesterday — is there something wrong with her? She said I jumped from a car, I started strangling a Secret Service agent? I grabbed the steering wheel of a car? Said I wanted guns at my rally? I didn’t want guns. I have to speak, too,” the former US President said.

“We commonly ask witnesses connected to Mr. Trump’s administration or campaign whether they have been contacted by any of their former colleagues, or anyone else, who attempted to influence or impact their testimony,” Cheney said during the hearing.
