CSK vs SRH: Opener Ruturaj Gaikwad trolled as his poor run continues
- Ruturaj Gaikwad failed to reach double digits in the first three games of this season
- He scored just 16 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday
- CSK fans on Twitter clearly looked disappointed with his performance
Ruturaj Gaikwad once again failed to give strength to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) with the bat as the team ended up scoring just 157 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 17th match of the 2022 Indian Premier League in Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium on Saturday.
The 25-year-old CSK opener failed to reach double digits in the first three games of this season that CSK ended up losing. It is very similar to the previous season where he had a slow start before racking up the runs and completing as the orange cap winner.
Gaikwad, looked like he would finally get out of his rut in the IPL 2022 season and get a big score but the inswinger from T Natarajan was too good for Gaikwad as he was sent for just 16 runs in 13 balls, after playing a couple of attractive shots.
CSK fans on Twitter clearly looked disappointed with the drastic fall in Gaikwad’s performances in the current season compared to that of previous one in UAE.
Here’s some of the reactions from fans:
A fan wrote, " So, shall we as All India cricket twitter council start the proceedings to declare Ruturaj Gaikwad a "fraud"? I believe failing in 4 straight innings is enough to warrant his nomination for it."
After Gaikwad, Ambati Rayudu came into bat and took charge of CSK’s innings with Moeen Ali. The duo put up crucial half-century stand and it looked like CSK could cross the 170-run mark. However, SRH bowler kept taking wickets at regular intervals.
Captain Ravindra Jadeja (23/ 15) played a little cameo towards the end after CSK lost a couple of wickets in a heap.
