Does Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, get bogged down by negative comments that are directed at him? The answer is yes. “Well, it does get to me sometimes, I mean, I’m not like, you know – I do have feelings,” he said at the Met Gala on Monday. “I’m not an android,” he added. This was his first appearance since he took over microblogging site Twitter

“They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions, but I think it’s mostly paved with bad intentions. But every now and again, there’s a good intention in there and hopefully, my good intentions do not pave the road to hell,” NDTV quoted him as saying. 

He recently hinted while Twitter will always remain free for casual users, he may impose a “slight cost” on commercial and government users.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Musk plans to take Twitter Inc public again in about three years of buying the microblogging site.

Musk has also promised to rid the platform of trolls and bots.  “We have to get rid of the bots and trolls and the scams and everything because that’s obviously diminishing the user experience,” he said. 

The other changes that he is expected to bring about is in terms of content moderation. A free speech absolutist, Musk has been critical of the platform’s content moderation policies. When the platform banned former US President Donald Trump, he raised question over the decision.  “Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated,” Musk said.

While he has not commented publicly on how he will deal with Trump’s banned account issue, his free speech comments have raised speculation that Twitter under his ownership might reinstate the former US president.
