Former US President Donald Trump reportedly threw his lunch against a White House wall in 2020, reacting to US Justice Department’s failure to find voter fraud in that year’s presidential elections. “Ketchup was dripping down the wall”, former White House worker Cassidy Hutchinson told the January 6 committee on Tuesday.

Trump’s fit of rage reportedly came after his Attorney General spoke to Associated Press about the lack of evidence that would suggest the 2020 elections were rigged. It was a bombshell that contradicted the concerted effort by Trump, his boss, to subvert the results of the election. The interview was published on December 1, 2020, roughly one month after the elections.

Willam Barr’s role in axing Trump’s voter fraud claims remains critical to the January 6 committee. He testified that “the election was not stolen by fraud” in one of the hearings earlier this month.

Hutchinson said she heard “noise coming from down the hallway” of the White House and noticed a door propped open in a West Wing dining room where Trump had eaten.

Hutchinson, who was then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows‘ aide, said that she saw a valet changing a tablecloth. She then spotted the stained wall and “grabbed a towel to clean up ketchup.”

Hutchinson’s testimony to the January 6 committee on Tuesday gave clarity about how the White House was behaving post-election. Trump was projected as a volatile and angry President.

Hutchinson spoke about how Trump treated his secret service details at that time. Anthony Ornato, who was named White House chief of operations, had reportedly told Hutchinson that Trump threw another tantrum after being told that he can not go to the US Capitol march on January 6, 2020.

“I’m the f**king President. Take me up to the Capitol now,” the former President said as he lunged onto a secret service detail and tried to grab the steering of his vehicle.
