Donald Trump will be kept in the Republican Party’s political circle till the upcoming mid-term elections in the United States and will be dropped soon after the polls, former aide Alyssa Farah Griffin said in a statement. She added that it is likely that former President Trump would not stick around the GOP’s sphere till the 2024 elections.

Griffin– one of the core team members of Donald Trump’s White House– said that the former President has been kept around to fulfill fundraising requirements for the electoral campaigns.

“He is a monster fundraiser. He does have a death-grip on the party”, she said at the CNN State of the Union on Sunday.

“Republicans are going to keep him around through 2022 because he will be helpful in winning back House seats, getting back the House majority”, Griffin added.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump has continued to tease the possibility of making a comeback in the 2024 presidential polls, putting another challenge forward after one failed bid against current President Joe Biden.

The former President has also endorsed a flurry of candidates across the United States, who will be up for election in the House of Representatives and the Senate. The Republican party currently remains to be a minority in the legislative houses.

Multiple candidates who have publicly criticised Donald Trump would now face opponents endorsed by the former President, including Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, a member of the Republican party. Former Senator David Perdue was endorsed by Trump.

Trump’s former aide Griffin added that the GOP should look for other individuals who can be the party’s presidential face. “What can Donald Trump do that Mike Pompeo, Mike Pence, Tim Scott, Nikki Haley can not do?” she asked.
