Everton forward Richarlison appeared to tease his move to Tottenham Hotspur, reportedly on the verge of completion, on Twitter on Wednesday as he responded to grieving fan.

The 25-year-old Brazilian, who helped Frank Lampard’s struggling Everton stay afloat in the Premier League last season, is believed to have already agreed personal terms with Spurs, and talks between the two clubs are also progressing positively.

Reports about Richarlison’s impending departure has understandably left Everton fans disappointed and sad, and one fan posted a photo of her crying son on Twitter, eliciting a reaction from the Brazilian.

“Whoops! Just told my lad that it looks like [Richarlison] is going to Tottenham. I cried the same when [Gary] Lineker left,” wrote the fan, to which Richarlison replied, “Stay happy my friend.”

While Spurs are expected to be able to complete the signing, transfers guru Fabrizio Romano claims that they are yet to agree with Everton on the structure of the deal. That being said, no expected difficulties have been reported.

If Spurs manage to complete the deal as expected, it would mark Antonio Conte‘s third major signing of the summer.

The Spurs boss has already completed the signing of former Inter Milan winger and Croatian veteran Ivan Perisic on a free transfer, and former Brighton midfielder and Mali international Yves Bissouma for £25 million.

But Conte doesn’t appear to be done just yet.

The 52-year-old Italian is also reportedly interested in Barcelona centre-back Clement Lenglet, with Romano reporting that Spurs and Barca are working out the “final details” of a loan deal for the defender till the summer of 2023.

Having finished fourth last season, 3 points behind third-placed Chelsea, Conte appears to be building up his squad to mount a title challenge this season.
