Gold prices rose slightly on Wednesday as Treasury yields fell ahead of the US Federal Reserve meeting. However, the strong US dollar limited profits.

Investors have drastically increased their bets that the Fed would raise interest rates by 75 basis points (bps) rather than 50 bps, fueling a major selloff across global markets.

Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) increased marginally on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 50,406.00 per 10 gm, up 211 points or 0.42%, in the Indian market. Silver futures were trading at Rs 60,317.00 per kg, up 816 points or 1.37%.

In global markets, gold was priced at $1,822.39 per oz while Silver is priced at $21.24. Platinum was trading at $935.59 while palladium was trading at $1,824.27.

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 49,430 per 10 grams while silver was priced at Rs 59,966 per kg on Tuesday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.  

Copper futures were trading at Rs 756.75 up 0.93% while Natural Gas and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 566.70 and Rs 219.50 per Kg respectively on MCX.

Ten grammes of 22-carat gold are bought and sold for Rs 47,400 in Mumbai, Kolkata, and New Delhi. According to the Good Returns website, the same amount of the valuable yellow metal is being traded-in Chennai for Rs 47,550.

The 24-carat gold prices and ten grammes of the in-demand metal cost Rs 51,710 in Kolkata, New Delhi, and Mumbai. In Chennai, the same amount of 24-carat purity is being traded for Rs 51,880.

Ten grammes of 22-carat gold costs Rs 47,580 and Rs 47,480 in Jaipur and Ahmedabad, respectively. The same amount of 24-carat purity is worth Rs 51,900 in Jaipur and Rs 51,790 in Ahmedabad.

Ten grammes of 22-carat gold costs Rs 47,400 in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Kerala. Similarly, the same quantity of 22-carat purity is being offered for Rs 47,400 in Vishakhapatnam, Mysore, and Mangalore. In all of the aforesaid places, ten grammes of 24-carat gold costs Rs 51,710.

Ten grammes of 22-carat gold costs Rs 47,480 and Rs 47,450 in Surat and Patna, respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity costs Rs 51,790 in Surat and Rs 51,780 in Patna.

Ten grammes of 22-carat gold costs Rs 47,550 and Rs 47,580 in Coimbatore and Chandigarh, respectively. The same amount of 24-carat purity costs Rs 51,880 in Coimbatore and Rs 51,900 in Chandigarh.
