He has now signed a new three-year contract with PSG, committing his long-term career to the French champions.

According to Spanish media, Mbappe informed Perez over Whatsapp that he would not be joining Madrid rather than calling him.

According to the Spanish TV show El Chiringuito, the message said, “I’m communicating to you that I have decided to stay at PSG. I want to thank you for the opportunity you gave me to play at Madrid, the club I was fan of since I was a kid.”

According to the Independent’s top football writer Miguel Delaney, Perez is enraged by Mbappe’s decision to stay at PSG.

“In a surprise to no one, am told Perez is ‘apoplectic’,” Delaney tweeted. “There is some surprise in Madrid they allowed it to get to this situation without Mbappe signing anything. If it was a normal situation, especially after Super League, Perez should be resigning…”

Mbappe is reportedly poised to earn a remarkable £4 million per month over the life of his deal, plus a massive £100 million signing-on bonus.

As per an astounding rumour from Spain, PSG has also promised to make the France international the “owner” of their sporting endeavour.

Edu Aguirre of El Chiringuito said that PSG is willing to give Mbappe the authority to dictate transfers and even change coaches.

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, PSG head coach Mauricio Pochettino and sporting director Leonardo are both poised to quit the club.

“Kylian Mbappe will sign a three year deal with Paris Saint-Germain, the contract will be valid until 2025. It was approved in the morning,” Romano tweeted. “Pochettino & Leonardo are expected to leave, as @Romain_Molina says – PSG are already exploring options to replace them.”
