‘Gangubai Kathiwadi’ star Alia Bhatt took to social media to respond to remarks about her stopping work due to her pregnancy. 

The actress slammed reports that suggested her work is getting delayed and expressed disappointment over the patriarchal and archaic reportage of her pregnancy. 

A post on PinkVillaUsa’s Instagram reporting Alia’s whereabouts triggered this infuriated response by the actor. The post read-

“Reportedly, the mommy-to-be will return to Mumbai in mid-July. It is also being reported that Ranbir might go to the UK to bring his wife home. According to India Today, Alia will be taking a rest after she returns from her shoot. The report also suggests that the actress planned her pregnancy in a way that doesn’t affect any of her commitments. She will be wrapping up her films, ‘Heart Of Stone’ and ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ before the end of July.”

Bhatt responded to the post on Instagram and penned- 

“Meanwhile we still live in some peoples heads, we still live in some patriarchal world… FYI. Nothing has gotten delayed!!!!No one needs to PICK anyone up, lam a woman not a parcel!!I do not need to REST at all but good to know, you’ll have a doctors certification as well:) This is 2022. Can we pls get out of this archake way of thinking! Now if you would excuse me … my shot is ready.”

On June 27, Bhatt took social media by storm when she posted an Instagram photo from a hospital visit with the caption “Our baby….. coming soon.” The photo appeared to show Bhatt’s ultrasound session with her husband Ranbir Kapoor. 

With the ultrasound image, Bhatt also posted a picture where there was also a lion, a lioness, and a lion cub.

The image has delighted fans and the industry as the two celebrate a new life milestone.

Alia and Ranbir have already wrapped production on Brahmastra. The film, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy, will be released in September. Ayan Mukerji directs the film.
