At least one person in New Orleans died after a tornado tore through parts of New Orleans, Lousiana on Tuesday. Cars flipped, roofs were ripped off and homes were damaged in the region that was pummeled by Hurricane Katrina 17 years ago.
Seriff Jimmy Pohlmann confirmed that rescue workers were searching suburban St. Bernard Parish, which borders New Orleans to the southeast, where the only person died.
On Monday, other tornadoes had hit parts of Texas and Oklahoma, killing one person and causing multiple injuries and widespread damage.
