US soldiers continue to be deployed to Europe amid the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The soldiers have been tasked with training alongside military units of other NATO members. These exercises are a show of force to deter Russian aggression in Europe,
At present, the Pentagon has ordered around 12,000 service members from all of the US bases to travel to Europe. This adds to the existing couple thousand who are already stationed abroad and are making their way to Europe as well.
Currently, the soldiers have been given a deployment period of six months, but this could extend. However, amid this troop movement, the US has remained firm that their army isn’t in any way to engage with the Russian military.
