The White House Correspondents’ Dinner was organised after two-year hiatus on Saturday. While the room was mostly filled with top American journalists and politicians, some celebrities also arrived for the event.

These included Kim Kardashian and partner Pete Davidson, Drew Barrymore, Brooke Shields with daughter Rowan Francis Henchy, and comedian Trevor Noah. Vice President Kamala Harris was missing after testing positive for COVID-19 days prior to the event.
A brief history of the White House correspondents’ dinner:

The correspondents’ dinner debuted in 1921. Three years later, Calvin Coolidge became the first US President to attend and all have since, except Donald Trump. Jimmy Carter and Richard Nixon opted not to attend every year of their presidencies, however, and Reagan, then recovering from an assassination attempt, missed the 1981 installment — but called in from Camp David.
