Wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant will be leading India in the five-match T20 International series against South Africa after KL Rahul was ruled out owing to a right groin injury, BCCI announced on Wednesday. Kuldeep Yadav will also be missing out on the T20I series.

“KL Rahul has been ruled out of the T20I series against South Africa owing to a right groin injury while Kuldeep Yadav will miss out in the T20I series after getting hit on his right hand while batting in the nets last evening,” BCCI tweeted.

Hardik Pandya has been named the vice-captain for the home series, which begins at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on June 9.

The second match will be played at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, while the third game will be played at Vishakapatnam on June 14. Rajkot will host the fourth T20I game on June 17. The series decider will played in Bengaluru on June 19.
