Delhi Capitals won the toss and elected to bowl first against Rajasthan Royals in the 34th match of the 2022 Indian Premier League in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on Friday.

Rishabh Pant-led DC, that are currently battling a mini COVID-19 outbreak in the camp, will try to continue their winning streak, after a nine-wicket win against Punjab Kings earlier this week. The team remains changed for the game against RR.

“We will bowl first. Told the boys not to focus on the outside and keep backing each other. We are gonna be talking about the same thing, end of the day we are looking to improve as a team. We are playing the same team. Anything around 150-160 would be good,” Pant said after winning the toss.

Meanwhile, with current ‘Orange Cap’ holder in Jos Buttler (375 runs) and ‘Purple Cap’ holder Chahal (17 wickets) in their ranks, Sanju Samson-led RR are looking pretty formidable at the moment. After winning 4 out of the 6 matches they have played so far, RR are currently placed third in the points table.

“We are ready for both. Toss is something which is not in my control, but it is definitely getting out my control a lot (*chuckles*). The discussion was to be ready for both situations (batting/bowling first). We have done well but it is important to move on and then focus on the current game and give our best today. Same team for us,” RR skipper Sanju Samson said after losing the toss.
