Dinesh
Karthik
, the assigned finisher for Royal Challengers Bangalore, has taken the
15th season of the Indian Premier League by storm, with a strike rate of 200
after 12 innings while scoring 274 runs at 68.50. The wicketkeeper-batter is
actually giving death overs bowlers in the league the shivers.

It’s not
only the fast runs; Karthik’s overall contributions have been critical to RCB’s
success this season. DK has been flawless in all seven of RCB’s victories,
scoring 200 runs at a stunning strike rate of 202.02 in those games. The most
recent was a stunning 30 not out off only 8 balls against the Sunrisers
Hyderabad last weekend.

Many people
believe Karthik should be included in India’s squad for the 2017 T20 World Cup.
DK, who made his India debut in 2004, has made several appearances for the
Indian squad throughout the years. He is undeniably in top shape. The selectors
must have been paying close attention. Added to it is the fact that he is a
member of a squad that includes former India captain Virat Kohli. He may no
longer be the captain, but his opinions should be considered while choosing the
final composition of the Indian team for the next T20 World Cup in Australia
later this year.

The
36-year-old batter has been assigned the distinct duty of finisher in the
star-studded RCB batting lineup, and he has shown himself to be probably the
finest in the business thus far in the tournament. DK has been intentionally
working on this position for some time. In the present 15th season of the IPL,
he has the greatest strike rate among the top run-getters (minimum 100 runs) at
200.00, the fourth most maximums – 21 sixes – and the third best average of
68.50.

His form is
tied to RCB’s success. As previously stated, he is undefeated in the seven
games RCB has won thus far, whereas his failure to smash fast runs for a brief
period corresponded with three consecutive defeats for the club. Karthik has returned
to form in recent matches, and RCB has also returned to winning ways as they
seek to maintain their top-four place. They have won their past two games
against the Chennai Super Kings and the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
