Gujarat Titans will take on Delhi Capitals in the
second match of Saturday’s doubleheader of the IPL 2022 at the Maharashtra
Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on April 2. Both teams have made a winning
start in their campaign openers. Gujarat Titans defeated Lucknow Super Giants
by five wickets while Delhi Capitals trounced Mumbai Indians by four wickets.

Gujarat, in their debut game in IPL, excelled in all
departments as they outwitted LSG from the word go of the match. India pacer
Mohammed Shami ripped through the top-order with the new ball in hand. LSG
struggled to make an impression against a strong GT attack. Gujarat Titans have
also had a solid batting attack at their disposal which is capable enough of
taking away the game from any opposition.

On the other hand, DC will be buoyant by the thumping
win over Mumbai Indians. Wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav seems to have hit the
peak, taking up three wickets against Mumbai Indians. His tight bowling
restricted MI to a modest total of 177 for 5. After an outstanding performance with
the ball in hand, DC got off to an aggressive start from the opening duo of
Prithvi Shaw and Tim Seifert. They shared a 30-run partnership in 21 runs
before Basil Thampi snapped the pairing. Mandeep Singh and Rishabh Pant’s quick
removal derailed DC’s chase, so the task of completing the proceedings lay with
young Lalit Yadav and Axar Patel. They shared an unbeaten 75-run stand for the
seventh wicket.

DC will need to fix their problem in the top order
against Gujarat Titans, which have a strong bowling attack.
