Gujarat Titans have had a dream IPL debut run. Hardik Pandya and co finished at the top of the points table with 10 wins and four losses. Now, they face the Rajasthan Royals in the Qualifier 1 at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata to book a berth in the finals.

A lethal bowling attack, dependable top-order, explosive batters in the middle – the Gujarat Titans tick all boxes. Their captain, Hardik Pandya, has been a revelation this season as he led from the front with both bat and ball. The former Mumbai Indians player tops his team’s batting charts with 413 runs in 13 games at an average of 41.30 and strike rate of 131.52. The all-rounder has taken four wickets. Along with him, Rashid Khan, David Miller and Rahul Tewatia have also fired. Every little thing has fallen in place.

Their weak link was their top-order batting with highly-rated Shubman Gill failing to convert his starts but the addition of veteran Wriddhiman Saha has done wonders for the team.

Mohammed Shami has led the pace department. The Indian pacer is the highest wicket-taker in the powerplay this season with 11 scalps.

Alzarri Joseph and Lockie Ferguson have also come in handy for the Titans.

The team comes to this game riding on an 8-wicket loss against the Royal challengers Bangalore.

The Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, have largely banked on the form of Jos Butler at the top. In the bowling department, purple cap holder Yuzvendra Chahal has been leading them. Ravichandran Ashwin, their last match’s hero, is doing well with both bat and ball.
