The Rajasthan Royals need to secure one more win to seal a play-off berth. They will take on the Chennai Super Kings in their last league game at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai on Friday.

Sanju Samson and co have won eight games and lost five in IPL 2022 so far. They are placed on the third rung of the points table. One more win and the 2008 champions will steer clear of any permutations or combinations for a top-four finish. However, RR will need their top-guns to fire against the inexperienced CSK bowling attack.

The pink army comes to the game after beating the Lucknow Super Giants by 24 runs. Defending 178, Trent Boult and Prasidh Krishna led the team’s efforts to restrict KL Rahul’s men to 154.

RR will, however, be concerned about the form of orange cap holder Jos Buttler. The Englishman has 627 runs this season but his last four scores read 22, 30, 7 and 2. Yuzvendra Chahal leads the purple cap charts with 24 scalps.

The Chennai Super Kings, on the other hand, are already eliminated from IPL 2022. They are placed on the ninth run of the points table with four wins and nine losses. MS Dhoni and co come to game after facing a seven-wicket defeat in the hands of the Gujarat Titans.

The problem for CSK is the inexperience in their bowling attack. Mukesh Choudhary, Simarjeet Singh and ‘Baby Malinga’ Matheesha Pathirana are all rookies. Ruturaj Gaikwad is their leading run-scorer with 366 runs. Devon Conway, who played more matches in the second half, has 236 runs to his credit.
