IPL 2022: Virat Kohli falls for third golden duck, angry fans slam the batter

The poor form continues to haunt Virat Kohli in IPL 2022. It seems his form is going from bad to worse. For the third time this season, Kohli has been dismissed for a duck. On Sunday, at the Wankhede Stadium, even before fans settled down in their seats, Kohli started the long walk back to the dugout. The former captain was removed by SunRisers Hyderabad’s spinner Jagadeesha Suchith in the very first ball of the match.

This was the third time Kohli has been dismissed for a golden duck in IPL 2022.
It was a soft dismissal as Kohli chipped left-arm spinner Suchith’s delivery straight to SRH skipper Kane Williamson at short mid-wicket.

As Kohli once again failed to stage a comeback fans were angry. Interestingly, Kohli got out for golden duck only thrice between 2008 and 2021 in IPL. And in 2022 alone he was removed for three golden ducks.
Kohli, who is the leading run-scorer in IPL, got out for a duck thrice this season and two of them came against SunRisers Hyderabad.

Here are Virat Kohli’s golden ducks in IPL 2022:
He first fell for a golden duck in IPL 2022 against Lucknow Super Giants at the DY Patil Stadium off the bowling of Dushmantha Chameera. His second golden duck came against SunRisers Hyderabad’s Marco Jansen at the Brabourne Stadium.
Now his third came against SRH at the Wankhede Stadium. The bowler was Jagadeesa Suchith. This was also the eighth time Kohli has been dismissed for less than 13 in IPL 2022.

As Kohli bagged an unwanted record, a section of fans took to social media on Sunday to express their disappointment at Virat Kohli, who seems low on confidence as a string of good scores have been eluding him in the ongoing IPL season.
