The BSE Sensex jumped 1,344.63 points or 2.54% to settle
at 54,318.47 points with all of its constituents closing with gains. The
broader NSE Nifty zoomed 417 points or 2.63% to close at 16,259.30 points. All
the 50 stocks gained and were led by steel and energy stocks. Both Sensex and
Nifty posted their best single-day gain since February 15.

All the sectoral indices settled higher with the metal
index rising over 7% and other indices up between 1-3%. BSE midcap and smallcap
indices surged over 2% each.

Here are the key stocks that moved most on May 17:

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC): On BSE, shares
of LIC are listed at Rs 867.2 per share, a discount of Rs 81.8 or 8.6% to the
upper end of its issue price range of Rs 902-949 per share. The share closed
0.95% up on the BSE.

Abbot India: The stock surged 6.33% to close at Rs
17,544.00 after the company reported a net profit of Rs 211.4 crore in the
March quarter of fiscal 2022, up 38.6% from 152.5 crores in the same quarter of
the previous financial year. Revenue grew 14.6% at Rs 1,255 crore against Rs
1,095.5 crore. EBITDA rose 43% to Rs 294 crore in March 2022 quarter against Rs
205.5 crore. EBITDA margin stood 23.4% against 18.7% YoY.

Bharti Airtel: The stock price ended 1.79% higher at Rs
705.60 after the company reported a 165% growth in consolidated net profit at
Rs 2,008 crore in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2021-22 as against Rs 759 crore
profit reported in the year-ago period. Sequentially, the profit has surged
142% from Rs 830 crore earned during the October-December quarter. Consolidated
revenues for the second largest telecom company by subscriber base in India
grew 22% YoY to Rs 31,500 crore as compared to revenue of Rs 25,747 crore
registered in the year-ago quarter. Consolidated revenues for fiscal 2022
jumped 16% to Rs 1,16,547 crore from the revenues of Rs 1,00,616 crore for last
year.

Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company: The stock added
3.91% to close at Rs 235.00 despite the company posting a net loss of Rs 71
crore in the quarter ended March 2022 against a loss of Rs 53.2 crore. Revenue
was down 10% at Rs 25.2 versus Rs 28.1 crore YoY. EBITDA loss was at Rs 66.56
crore against a loss of Rs 50.4 crore YoY.

Bajaj Electricals: The share price rose 7.85% to close at
Rs 987.00 despite the company reporting a 28% fall in March quarter net profit
at Rs 39.4 crore compared with Rs 54.6 crore in the year-ago period. However,
its revenue surged 6% to Rs 1,334.3 crore in the March quarter compared with Rs
1,258.5 crore. EBITDA was down 13% at Rs 63.1 crore compared with Rs 72.5 crore
and other income was up at Rs 21.02 crore as against Rs 30.73 crore in the
year-ago period.
