NBA star Miles Bridges, a former player with the Charlotte Hornets, was arrested in Los Angeles on Tuesday for felony domestic violence.

According to TMZ, which first broke the news, the 24-year-old forward turned himself in to the police on Wednesday after being absconding for hours following a physical altercation with a woman on Tuesday.

While the identity of the victim is unknown, law enforcement officials told TMZ that Bridges had gotten into an argument with the woman, which then escalated into a physical altercation.

The woman subsequently called the police, but by the time officers showed up at the scene of the fight, Bridges had disappeared. TMZ also reported that the woman required medical attention after the altercation, but the extent of her injuries was not clear at the time of writing this.

After being absconding for hours, Bridges turned himself into the cops on Wednesday afternoon.

His bail had been sent at $130,000 and the NBA player has since been released.

For those unaware, Bridges in an upcoming NBA star and is likely to become a sought-free agent this off season, having completed four seasons with the Hornets.

In 2018, Bridges became the 12th draft pick from the Michigan State University, averaging 13.4 points and 5.6 rebounds a game over 4 seasons.

The best season of Bridges’ career came in the 2020-21 season with the Hornets, when the 6’7, 225-pounder averaged 20.2 points, 7 rebounds and 3.8 assists.

Apart from being a rising basketball player, Bridges is also a rapper who publishes music and performs under the name RTB MB. In his fledgling hip-hop career, Bridges has published two albums: his debut album ‘Up the Score’ was released in 2020 and well-received, and the player followed it up with another album, ‘Halftime’, in 2021.
