Paris Saint-Germain remain oriented toward sacking Argentine coach Mauricio Pochettino in the coming days, Fabrizio Romano of Sky Sports reported.

Another meeting is required before the official decision, which will take place after Nasser Al Khelaifi’s return.

With this, PSG is shaking up its club structure as sporting director, Leonardo is set to depart. The Ligue 1 side has reportedly already reached an agreement with Luis Campos. An official statement is expected in the coming days about the man who built the Lille and Monaco sides.

The French club recently reached a deal with Kylian Mbappe, their star forward, to keep him in Paris. In return, Mbappe also got a heavy say in the club’s transfers, as per reports. However, the French professional denied it, and when a Twitter user noted that the 23-year-old had 14 names he wanted to be rid of that summer, Mbappe simply replied, saying “FAKE”.

The former Tottenham Hotspur manager has won the French league with PSG but has not been able to lead the side to Champions League glory. “The objective is always in a club like Paris Saint-Germain to win the Champions League”, Pochettino said about the difficulties of working at PSG.

He was speaking after his Ligue 1 win, when he said, “The most important [thing] is to try to build something special. The important thing is to learn from the experience. This football club is building to win. It’s difficult in a club like Paris Saint-Germain because the objectives are so big and when you win the league, sometimes it looks like it’s not enough.”
