The ‘One Piece’ live-action series is coming to Netflix and the streaming platform has shared a first look at the sets being built. Viewers can feast their eyes on the life-size pirate ships in the two-minute clip, which is introduced by Iñaki Godoy, who appears as the protagonist Luffy.

Showrunners Steve Maeda and Matt Owens also appear, and then we get to see a reel of the concept art. The Baratie Bar is the last image and it appears in the East Blue story arc of ‘One Piece’. This is pulled away to show the massive ship that is being built in real life and includes all the details which appear in Eiichiro Oda’s manga.

A timelapse follows, and we see the bar being built piece-by-piece, including iconic additions like the giant fish head prow. Other sets, like a rickety pirate town and ships like Miss Love Duck and the Going Merry, are seen as well.

The creators have explained how some sets took weeks to build due to the sheer amount of attention involved. They also described how the Baratie Bar ship is surrounded by floating docks and is a massive location.

The ‘One Piece’ Netflix series has kept details under wraps for a large part. It was first announced in 2017 and confirmed by Netflix in 2020. However, the series started production only in February, and Netflix hasn’t hinted at a release date yet, which means that ‘One Piece’ won’t be appearing anytime soon.

Apart from Godoy as Luffy, Mackenyu plays Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd plays Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson plays Usopp, and Taz Skylar plays Sanji.
