Jessica Chastain won her first Oscar for Best Actress at the 2022 Academy Awards, for her role in ‘The Eyes of Tammy Faye’.

None of the nominees had roles in any of the best picture nominations. Kristen Stewart, who starred in “Spencer,” received the only nomination for her picture. Three of the women — Olivia Colman, Penélope Cruz, and Nicole Kidman — had already won an Oscar, though that was not an obstacle for Frances McDormand when she won her third lead actress award (and second in four years) for Nomadland last year.
