‘Ozark’ sees a lot go down in the final season as Omar Navarro tries to get out of the cartel life. The FBI begin breathing down the neck, and the Byrde family decides that the best way out of the situation is if a deal can be reached.

However, the feds decide to go back on the agreement of getting Omar out. They want him to stay on as the cartel head and provide enough information to take down the entire organization. While Omar agrees, after much reluctance, Maya Miller the forensic accountant for the bureau arrests Omar because she feels the department isn’t doing their bit.

This sets a chain of events into motion with the Byrdes scrambling to convince Omar’s number two, Javi, who’s now the de-facto head of the cartel that they aren’t responsible for Omar’s arrest. Wendy manages to get Javi to back down from killing Marty and sends their children to safety as well. However, with Omar behind bars, the bureau needs another rat within the Navarro cartel. Javi steps into Omar’s shoes as cartel head and bureau informant.

This essentially makes him all the more dangerous, because he’s now nearly untouchable. Meanwhile, Darlene Snell and Wyatt Langmore, Ruth’s favourite cousin, tie the knot. They return home to find Javi waiting for them. The retribution from the cartel arrives at the Snell’s doorstep since Darlene refused to stop heroin production despite the cartel’s say-so. Javi assassinates Darlene before putting a bullet through Wyatt’s head despite not even knowing who he is, or how he’s tied to the entire matter.

The rage of Ruth

When Ruth discovers the deaths, she doesn’t understand who killed them. However, Ruth receives her answers at the Byrde residence. Though both Wendy and Marty warn her that she shouldn’t take the fight to the current head of the Navarro cartel, especially because of his FBI protection, Ruth is in no mood to listen.
