Arsenal’s wait for a first win in 2022
continued on Sunday as the Gunners were held to a goalless draw at home by bottom
side Burnley in another blow to the North London club’s Champions League hopes.
Mikel Arteta’s side are winless and goalless in the five games they have played in all competitions since the turn of the year.

Arsenal lost to Manchester City in the Premier League on New Year’s
Day, before being knocked out by Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup. The Gunners
subsequently held Liverpool to a goalless draw at Anfield in the first leg of the EFL Cup semi-final last week, before losing the home tie on Thursday.

The draw leaves Arsenal a point short of West
Ham
in fifth, with the Gunners having two games in hand on their London rivals.
Arsenal are two points off Manchester United in fourth, having played a game
fewer than Mancunians.

The Clarets have seen games postponed this month due to not having enough players available due to injuries and coronavirus cases and fell to last place as their rivals were able to fulfil fixtures.
