Apart from being a contestant, host, and mentor, the audience began identifying the show with Rannvijay, and often, aspiring contestants participated in auditions only to get a chance to meet him. The youth-based reality show first aired in 2003 with Raghu Ram and Rajiv Lakshman as judges and creators. They quit the show in 2014.

It’s left to be seen how the channel reacts to Rannvijay’s announcement. Rannvijay said, “The channel has been a key pillar of my journey and I’ll be doing interesting work with them. On this edition of Roadies, things didn’t work out from both sides. Our dates were not matching and it is disheartening.” He elaborated that he had no issue with the production house.  “I’ve been working with the channel for 18 years. I’ve done different shows with the network. Production house aur mera koi taal mel hai nahi,” he said in an interview with Hindustan Times.
