Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has reacted to former Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli’s golden duck against the SunRisers Hyderabad in the 54th match of the 2022 Indian Premier League in Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium on Sunday.

Singh, who appeared on Star Sports to promote his upcoming movie ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’, said that he wants Virat Kohli to come out of his “bad phase” and perform well in the upcoming T20 World Cup.

“It is quite disappointing to see Virat getting out on a first-ball duck. However, it doesn’t affect his stature,” he said.

“He was and will always be a great cricketer. I want him to come out of this bad phase soon because I want to see him do well for Team India in the T20 World Cup.”

“Virat is one of the best batsmen in the world. It was his third golden duck in TATA IPL 2022, which is completely unexpected. I thought Virat would play a big knock today. He is definitely going through a bad phase but I want this player to be fully recharged before the T20 World Cup so that he regains his prime form for the big tournament,” he added.

After Bangalore elected to bat, Kohli got out in the first delivery of the match as he gave away an easy catch to short midwicket. This was his third golden duck of the 15th season of IPL. The first was against Lucknow Super Giants and the second against SRH. The 33-year-old, in 12 games played so far this season, has scored 216 runs at an average of 19.63 and a strike rate of 111.34.
