Ravindra Jadeja on Wednesday was ruled of the remained of IPL 2022 due to a rib injury, Chennai Super Kings announced. This comes days after the star all-rounder quit the leadership role and handed the captaincy back to MS Dhoni.
Jadeja, who had missed CSK's match against Delhi Capitals due to an upper body injury, has gone home, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan told PTI.

"Ravindra Jadeja won't be playing CSK's next two games as he has suffered a rib cage injury. He has already gone home."
The 33-year-old captained CSK in the first eight games. The franchise could manage to win two games under his leadership. He scored 116 runs at an average of 20 in 10 games and only five wickets at an economy rate of 7.51.

While the official reason being given for Jadeja's unavailability is injury, sources tracking developments in the CSK camp claimed that the all-rounder has been dropped.
Jadeja also unfollowed CSK on Instagram.
"I have no clue about all this stuff like instagram and Twitter and so I won't be able to tell you much about these things," the CEO said.
Is Jadeja the new Raina?
Immediately after Jadeja was ruled out, chatter on social media suggested that the India player might be suffering what his ex-Chennai colleague Suresh Raina did.
The latter was not picked by the four-time winners in the IPL 2022 mega-auction. However, the rumours of a rift between two parties were floating since IPL 2022, when Raina went home, from the UAE, mid-season. CSK owner and former BCCI president N Srinivasan had made some blazing remarks, indicating Raina had left because he was unhappy with the room allotted to him in the hotel when CSK landed in Dubai.

"@ChennaiIPL @imjadeja First he steps down as captain next. He likes an tweet against csk and dhoni. Csk unfollows him on Instagram. He misses one match. Now is ruled out of the ipl. Politics going on behind close doors ??" a Twitter user pointed out.
"Can't believe Jadeja's entire career with CSK ended for losing 6 matches," another one said.
Is this the point Jadeja and CSK part ways?
Former India player Aakaash Chopra said that Jadeja might not be a part of Chennai next year.
"Jaddu (Jadeja) won't be there for this match. But I am getting a thought that maybe he won't even be there next year. This happens in the Chennai camp that you don't exactly know what has happened to the player when he is injured or gets dropped. A similar thing happened to Suresh Raina in 2021. After some games, they suddenly left him out," Chopra said in a video on his YouTube channel.
CSK play the Mumbai Indians on Thursday.
