Choreographer and filmmaker Remo
D’Souza
’s brother-in-law Jason Watkins committed suicide at his Andheri home on
Thursday.  

Jason Savion Watkins
was declared dead on arrival at Cooper Hospital, Mumbai. A post-mortem report
is underway.   

According to a police
official, Watkins was found hanging from the ceiling at his home. His parents
had found him after they had returned from an errand. No suicide note has been
found yet.   

 According to an official, the
police received a call at noon by a person who reported a death inside flat
number 302 of Yamuna Nagar, Andheri.

The police then identified the corpse
as that of Jason Savion Watkins. Watkins was 48 years old. The police have
launched an investigation into the incident and have filed a case under
Accidental Death Report (ADR).

 Watkins’ sister, Lizelle, father
Desmond and brother-in-law Remo are being questioned by the police.

Lizelle D’Souza took to Instagram to
post pictures of Watkins. A childhood picture posted by Lizelle reads, “Why?”.
Another picture of her mother and Watkins reads, “Am sorry mum I failed you”.
Lizelle had lost her mother back in 2018.

Her partner Remo D’Souza also took to
Instagram to post a picture with Watkins. He wrote, “You broke our hearts
brother, hope you finally found peace. Rest in peace #jasonwatkins”.

Uploaded 10 hours ago, the post has
garnered more than 50,000 likes and around 200 comments. Many internet users
have offered their condolences.

Lizelle D’Souza is known for producing
films like ‘Time to Dance’ and ‘Street Dancer 3D’, both directed by
Remo.

After Remo’s cardiac arrest in 2020,
Lizelle had expressed her gratitude to actor Salman Khan for his help and
support. Remo had worked with the actor in the 2018 film, ‘Race 3’.

The 47-year-old choreographer has
directed films like ‘F.A.L.T.U’, ‘ABCD: Any Body Can Dance’, ‘A Flying Jatt’
and ‘Street Dancer 3D’.
