Russian gas oligarch Sergey Protosenya and his family were reportedly found dead inside their mansion in Spain earlier this week, local news websites reported.

The bodies of Protosenya, his wife 53-year-old wife Natalya, and their 18-year-old daughter were found at their mansion in Catalonia on April 19, Spanish news outlet El Punt Aui reported.

The couple’s eldest son, who lives in France, contacted the police after he was unable to contact them. While Natalya and her daughter were reportedly stabbed to death, Protosenya had apparently hanged himself.

Meanwhile, the incident comes just a day after Vladislav Avayev, a former Kremlin official and ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, was found dead alongside his own family, in similar circumstances.

The 51-year-old was found dead in his multi-million dollar Moscow apartment by his 26-year-old daughter on Monday. The bodies of his 47-year-old wife Yelena and younger daughter Maria, 13, were also discovered at the residence. According to reports, all of them had suffered gunshot wounds. It is believed that Avayev killed his wife and daughter before killing himself. Avayev’s elder daughter reportedly told cops that the gun was in her father’s hand when she found his body at the residence.
