Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, born September 23, 1951, is a Pakistani politician who served as Pakistan’s 23rd Prime Minister and as the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly.

Shehbaz has served in the National Assembly since August 13, 2018, and is the current President of the Pakistan Muslim League-N. Previously, he served as Chief Minister of Punjab three times during his political career, making him the province’s longest-serving Chief Minister.

Shehbaz was born on September 23, 1951, in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan, to a Punjabi-speaking Kashmiri family. He was born on September 23, 1951.

Muhammad Sharif’s father was an upper-middle-class merchant and entrepreneur whose family had relocated from Anantnag in Kashmir for business and eventually settled in the village of Jati Umra in Amritsar district, Punjab, at the turn of the century.

His mother’s family was originally from Pulwama. His parents moved from Amritsar to Lahore following India’s partition led by Jinnah and the establishment of Pakistan in 1947.

Shehbaz graduated from Government College University in Lahore with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

He joined his family’s Ittefaq Group after graduation and was elected president of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry in 1985.

Abbas Sharif and Nawaz Sharif are his two brothers. Nawaz Sharif is Pakistan’s third elected Prime Minister. His sister-in-law, Kulsoom Nawaz Sharif, served as Pakistan’s First Lady for three non-consecutive years.

In 1973, Shehbaz married his cousin, Nusrat Shehbaz. They had four children: Salman, Hamza, and Javeria and Rabia, twin sisters.

Shehbaz married his second wife, Tehmina Durrani, in 2003. Raiwind Palace, his ancestral home in Lahore, is where he resides. He is a businessman who co-owns Ittefaq Group, a multimillion-dollar steel conglomerate.

He was reported to be wealthier than his elder brother Nawaz in 2013, with Rs 336.9 million.

Shehbaz Sharif has more than 83 acres of farmland. He has four non-agricultural properties in Pakistan, as well as a home in London. He also owns two automobiles and has Rs 21.9 million in bank accounts.

His assets in Pakistan and overseas are worth Rs 247.49 million, but he also has obligations worth Rs 146.67 million in the form of loans and mortgages in Pakistan and the United Kingdom, leaving his net worth at Rs 100.71 million.

Given his liabilities, his first wife, Nusrat Shehbaz, has a net worth of Rs 235.21 million.
