In 2016, ‘Stranger Things‘ took the world by storm and became one of the most popular television shows that sci-fi drama lovers could relish. With 80s nostalgia and lots of suspense, the Netflix drama was heavy on homages from the likes of Steven Spielberg and Stephen King. 

With the new season premiere just a week away, here are all the details you need to know.

The sneak peeks

The trailer for the fourth season of the show came out on February 14, 2020. Over a year later, another sneak peek dropped that took viewers back to the Rainbow Room and offered hints on what to expect. On August 6, 2021, and September 25, 2021, fans were treated with more new footage. Finally, on November 6, 2021, the full trailer was released. Recently, another glimpse of the show was unveiled on April 12, 2022 and May 21, 2022.

When does the season release?

The first volume of Season 4 containing episodes 1 to 7 is set to release on May 27, 2022. The second volume will drop on July 1, 2022, consisting of two long episodes.

Episode names

Names of the episodes were dropped on November 6, 2021, in a teaser. Here are the titles-

 Who is in Season 4?

The complete cast from ‘Stranger Things 3’ will return in the new season, including Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Winona Ryder, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Maya Hawke, Joe Keery, Charlie Heaton and Natalia Dyer.

Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono, Matthew Modine and Brett Gelman will also return to the show as regulars. 

The season will also feature new cast members including Eduardo Franco, Jamie Campbell Bower, Nikola Duričko, Joel Stoffer, Joseph Quinn, Sherman Augustus, Joe Chrest, Amybeth McNulty, Robert Englund, Tom Wlaschiha, Myles Truitt, Regina Ting Chen, Mason Dye, Tyner Rushing, and Grace Van Dien.

Where was the new season filmed?

Filming for Season 4 started in January 2020 in Lithuania and Georgia, USA.

What’s the plot?

While most of the storyline is still under the wraps, a short synopsis unveiled in 2020 suggested the return of David Harbour’s Hopper, who seemingly died in the previous season. 

According to the Collider, showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer said that the new season will dive deep into a world beyond the hometown of Hawkins. Sneak peeks of the show have also suggested a storyline that revolves around Victor Creel, who spent years inside a psychiatric hospital after the mysterious deaths of his family members inside the Creel House. 

Will there be a fifth season?

‘Stranger Things’ will return for its fifth and final season, according to an announcement by Netflix.
