As the final two episodes of Stranger Things Season 4 approach, Netflix has released a teaser trailer for the conclusion. The first seven episodes of this season were released on May 27th, with the final two scheduled for July 1st. And, after that tremendous cliffhanger in Episode 7, fans are waiting to see what happens after.

The trailer depicts Max Mayfield in Upside Down, while Steve Harrington drives a bus full of monster-hunting kids. Vecna has been unleashed into the actual world, and we see glimpses of all the characters gathering to confront the entire Upside Down in a quest to save Hawkins and obliterate the wicked plane set to a wonderful remix of Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God).

After Volume 1, we’ve learned about Vecna’s origins, seen Eleven struggle with her talents, and even witnessed some really cringe-worthy situations as the Hellfire Club juggles school and otherworldly demon combat.

Stranger Things appears to be keen on unearthing the complete Upside Down and laying it naked for audiences to pick apart through flashbacks and adventures into frigid Russia. A short preview was also released at the same time as Volume 1.

Stranger Things has already been committed for a fifth and final season, so while there may be a happy ending in a few years, it’s safe to predict that things would get much worse for the Hawkins crew before they get better.

The teaser doesn’t say when or how Eleven will reunite with her friends this season, but it does show them all heading into the Upside Down, probably to beat Vecna down with the force of Kate Bush’s music. While views of Max’s tape player signal that she will have a role in bringing the demon down, the focus on Eddie discovering a guitar suggests that when Stranger Things 4 Volume 2 arrives on Netflix on July 1st, the epic conflict it builds toward will be one hell of a jam session.
