With the fourth season of Netflix‘s ‘Stranger Things‘ just a week away, viewers are in store for plot twists, terrifying revelations and Victor Creel, a creepy member of the Creel House.

While the trailer has offered a glimpse into the mysterious house and a humanoid monster named Vecna who lives inside the attic, Victor Creel’s identity has been kept under the wraps for the most part.

The haunted house will play an essential role in the new season’s plotline, as “what occurs inside it is pivotal to understanding what has been happening in Hawkins all of these years,” showrunner Ross Duffer said, according to ScreenRant.

Who is Victor Creel?

Creel’s saga began decades before the events that have been featured in the show. Victor, along with his family, moved to the Creel House in the 50s, initially like a normal happy family moving to suburbia. However, things took a violent turn as ‘strange things’ started occurring, such as dead animals and flickering lights on the property. The events resulted in the mysterious deaths of Victor’s family.

After the tragedy, Victor was admitted to a psychiatric ward where he has spent years now. The question remains- Will Victor spend the rest of his life inside the hospital, or find a way out?

Who plays Victor Creel?

The character is portrayed by horror icon Robert Englund, the man who still sends chills down one’s spine as Freddy Kreuger from ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’.

“[Robert Englund] brought a real enthusiasm to his role, and honestly, it was just an honor to watch him work,” said Natalia Dyer, who plays Nancy Wheeler in the show.

“The role that he plays is just really interesting. I can’t say that much about it, but he was so lovely and kind and sweet and really gave such a great performance. I’m really excited to see it on the screen,” Dyer added.
