While some await Assembly election results by frantically tracking the news, others dance it off, devouring jalebis on the big day. 

Amid the counting of votes for Punjab’s Assembly elections underway with the Aam Aadmi Party crossing the majority mark, AAP’s Bhagwant Mann’s Sangrur residence was seen embellished with flower decorations and flaming hot pans of giant jalebis.

Bhagwant Mann’s house was seen adorned with flower decorations and jalebi preparations earlier today. Mann is the chief ministerial candidate for the AAP in Punjab.

In a video shared by ANI on Twitter, several people can be seen dancing to the beats of the drums, celebrating the AAP’s sweet victory.

The video also features a man waving a broom, the symbol of the Arvind Kejriwal-led party. 

Punjab went to polls on February 20 with 1,304 candidates contesting in 117 constituencies across the state.

Opoyi’s poll of polls predicts 23-32 seats for the Congress, the ruling party in the state, 57-71 seats for AAP, and 15-24 seats for the SAD alliance. The BJP is expected to win 3 to 6 seats.

Currently, the Aam Aadmi Party has surged ahead in the first hour of vote counting and is leading in 84 seats, with the Congress leading in 17 seats. The Shiromani Akali Dal is lagging the race. A party or coalition needs to win 59 seats in the 117-member assembly to get a majority.  

Key candidates from Punjab include current Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi from INC, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee’s President Navjot Singh Sidhu from INC, Captain Amarinder Singh from Punjab Lok Congress and Bhagwant Mann from AAP.
