Takeshi’s Castle, one of the most famous and adored dramas of the 1990s and early 2000s, is poised to return to television next year. From skipping stones to Bridge Ball, the game has brought limitless fun as well as the opportunity to gather with your family and spend happy moments while watching the Japanese series. It was labelled a worldwide sensation since it sparked the creation of a slew of reality programmes in the genre throughout the world.

According to Deadline, a reboot version of the iconic Japanese game show Takeshi’s Castle will debut on Amazon Prime Video. Users of Amazon Prime Video will be able to view the reboot version in 2023 when it will be accessible in more than 240 markets. Takeshi’s Castle is one of several Japanese originals set for worldwide release as part of Prime’s new focus on extending its offering in Japan.

According to Deadline, Erika North, Amazon Studios’ president of Originals, Asia Pacific, gave details on the new initiative, saying, “We’re very much focused on investing in the best Japanese talent to deliver the highest quality content for our Prime Video customers in Japan. We believe that putting the spotlight on the very best stories from Japanese creators will not only excite our Japanese viewers but also audiences around the world.”

The game show, which stars Japanese comedian Takeshi Kitano, depicts the comedian as the castle’s owner, who invites volunteers to play in a range of tough activities in order to reach him. Dominoes, high rollers, Grid Iron, Mushroom Trip, and other physically demanding yet tiresome duties were among the games. For the final round, volunteers are handed water cannons and instructed to destroy the paper rings of the opposing cars while preserving their own.

Following the news of the revival, fans on the internet couldn’t help but show their delight. “So allegedly Takeshi’s Castle is being relaunched by Amazon, and this is now the only news that matters to me!!!!” remarked one fan.
