The Boys‘ Season 3 trailer was released on Saturday and provided a good two-minute sneak peek into what promises to be an explosive season for the critically-acclaimed, Emmy-nominated show.

In the trailer, Butcher (played by Karl Urban) can be seen struggling with mysterious new superpowers, namely, glowing yellow eyes and laser vision, while his nemesis, the ever-menacing Homelander (played by Antony Starr) is seen making futile attempts to curb his violent rage.

The star of the trailer, however, is Jensen Ackels’ Solider Boy, who shown to be awakening at the end of the trailer.

Season 3 of ‘The Boys’ is scheduled to be released on Amazon Prime on June 3 of this year.

While the season premiere and two other episodes will be released on June 3 itself, the rest of the episodes will be released one at a time each Friday, culminating in the explosive season finale on July 8.

Based on The New York Times best-selling comic of the same name by Garth Ennis, the television adaptation of ‘The Boys’ is tinged with a sardonic sense of humour and is a spectacle full of blood, guts, and glory.

Season 1 of the show was released on July 26, 2019 and received good reviews in general, with a score of 80% on Rotten Tomatoes. Season 2, which was released a year later on September 4, 2020, however, reached new heights with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 97%. If the new trailer is an indication of what’s to come, then one can expect a stellar third season.
