On Monday, Bill Gates and his boyhood buddy Paul Allen celebrated the 47th anniversary of Microsoft Corporation, which was formed on April 4, 1975, by Bill Gates and his childhood friend Paul Allen.

Gates reminisced on the good old days by posting an old video on Instagram in which he can be seen jumping over a chair at the Microsoft office years ago.

“It took leaps and bounds to accomplish Microsoft’s vision of a computer on every desk and in every home. I’m proud that the company is working to empower every person and organisation on the planet to achieve more,” he wrote.

Gates resigned as CEO of Microsoft in 2000, stating that he wanted to focus on the charitable work of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

He left Microsoft full-time in 2008 but remained on the board until March 2020.

Bill Gates resigned from the Microsoft board of directors in 2020, after the board launched a probe into the billionaire’s intimate involvement with a female colleague over 20 years before.

Microsoft executives urged Bill Gates in 2008 to stop sending flirty emails to a female employee but dropped the matter when he promised to stop, according to the firm.

The Wall Street Journal was the first to reveal that Gates met with Brad Smith, then Microsoft’s general counsel and now president and vice-chair, and another executive after the firm uncovered improper emails to a mid-level employee.

According to the newspaper, Gates did not dispute the discussions, and members of the Microsoft board who were informed of them chose to take any further action because there was no physical touch between Gates and the employee.
