Marsh and DC captain Rishabh Pant were cruising in the middle. The two brought a 50-run partnership in 16 balls after the team was 13/2 early in their chase of 196 runs. They raised 53 runs in 18 balls, hitting five boundaries and five maximums.

However, the Aussie departed after he stayed back and slashed a fullish delivery by K Gowtham. Wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock, alert behind the stumps, took a quick catch. Umpire declared out. Marsh looked like he wanted to take a review buth then walked off. He scored 37 runs off 20 balls.

As soon as Marsh was in the dugout, the ultra-edge showed that there was no spike. The batter would have survived if a review was taken.

“Still can’t get over the Marsh dismissal. Bowler was unsure. Batsman walked off as soon as the umpire gave it but there was nothing on ultra-edge! I thought I heard two sounds in quick succession. You would think a batsman would know, though…” commentator Harsha Bhogale tweeted.

The Delhi Capitals ultimately lost the game by six runs. Opting to bat, skipper KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda smashed delightful half-centuries.

Rahul led from the front, top-scoring with 77 off 51 balls, while Hooda made 52 off 34 deliveries as the duo shared 95 runs for the second wicket to take LSG to the commanding total. Shardul Thakur (3/40) picked up all the three LSG wickets.
